HAPPY NEW YEAR: DO IT NOW!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It’s the start of a new year and we made it, yaaayyyyy!!! It’s exciting to begin this new year 2025 and look ahead with great enthusiasm. What are your plans for 2025 and who are you cutting off from your life? Lol. It’s normal to see posts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram about being a changed person, taking no bull crap from anyone and cutting people of, yen yen yen.  Truth is, it’s good to want to evaluate your life and strategize on the path going forward and all that; but then, why wait for the 31st of December to make such decisions? You can make decisions like that anytime you feel they are necessary. You don’t need to cross your legs waiting for the clock to chime in 12.00 am on January 1st before you decide. January 1st is another day just like November 6th or March 14th. Do what you need to do to effect that positive change you desire in your life and DO IT NOW!

5 LIFE LESSONS FROM BIG BROTHER NAIJA SEASON 6

If you have been watching past editions of the Big Brother Naija show held in Lagos-Nigeria, you would agree with me that there are tons of life lessons to be learned from the show. If you’re not aware, the show is about a number of people living together in a house full of cameras, navigating through tasks and relationships and voted out by the audience until one person wins. This season started with 22 housemates and then in the first eviction 3 people were booted off ( Yerins, Niyi and Beatrice). In that same night, 4 new housemates (JMK, Kayvee, Michael and Queen) joined the initial cast of Whitemoney, Pere, Liquorose, Jackie B, Maria, Peace, Sammie, Saga, Nini, Arin, Princess, Boma, Cross, Jaypaul, Saskay, Angel, Emmanuel, Peace, Tega and Yousef.  So back to the topic: what have you learned so far from the show? Hmmm… 1. VIEWERS LIKE WHO THEY LIKE As it has proven year after year, when the show starts, viewers are drawn to particular housemates most times because of how they l...

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE EXTREMELY ANGRY AT SOMEONE?

Anger is an intense emotional state involving a strong uncomfortable and non-cooperative response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat. An angry person will often experience physical effects, such as increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and increased levels of adrenaline. Some view anger as a normal and natural human emotion, while some see it as a weakness to be angry.  People react differently when they are angry. Some don't voice it out but inside, they are a burning cauldron. Some people just go away and leave the scene of the crime until things have cooled down.  Others are more expressive and they yell. Some get physical, and destroy things when they're angry. Some yell out insults and obscenities. Others could go as far as causing physical harm and destruction.      So which category do you belong? Do you think anger is normal? Some people like to think that as a christian, "you shouldn't be getting angry". Lol, really? They really do...

9 REASONS WHY PEOPLE CHEAT

Cheating occurs in a committed partnership such as a marriage or a relationship, when one party strays beyond his or her marriage to seek solace ( in what ever form) from an outsider. Cheating comes in different forms including emotional, physical and so on. Emotional cheating happens when a party transfers and places the burden of filling their emotional needs to an outsider in the marriage or relationship. It could be through texts like WhatsApp messages. Instead of confiding in their partner, they are more comfortable with someone outside. These emotions could be anger, fear, love, sexual or others. Of course physical/sexual cheating occurs when one party physically meets up with an outsider to their marriage or relationship and does what they should be doing with their partner, with this outsider. It is mostly sexual but not in all cases. Once you are somewhere with someone outside your partner, doing what you should be doing with your partner with this outsider, AND YOUR PARTN...

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT SCHOOL REUNIONS?

Hmmmm, so I was recently added to the WhatsApp group created for my former course mates form the university. I was pleasantly shocked because I had craved an avenue like that to reminisce about school life, to get to know even those I wasn’t close to then and to strengthen even further, the friendships with those I was still cool with even after all these years.  One of the first things I asked on the group was why I was just been added if the group had been existing since. I found out there were some obstacles in trying to carry everyone along and some people exited then. But I’ll say it now, this reunion has been one of the highlights of my 2020 so far.  So far, everyone has been lovely, lively and chatty, making jokes and generally having fun. But of course, not everyone is happy with meeting unread messages of almost 500. Phone batteries and especially data (which is expensive in Nigeria) are working overtime. A forum such as this also afford the opportunity for members to...

ONLINE TROLLING: EVER BEEN A VICTIM?

WHAT IS A TROLL? According to www.wikipedia.org, a  troll  is a class of being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. They were described as beings that dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings. In Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right, where they live far from human habitation and were  dangerous to human beings. Trolls are generally thought to be really ugly and slow-witted.  MODERN DAY INTERNET TROLLS Who is referred to as a troll in today’s world, especially where the internet and social media are involved? According to Cambridge dictionary, a TROLL is “someone who leaves an intentionally annoying or offensive message on the internet, in order to upset someone or to get attention or cause trouble”. This has been a sort of trend in Nigeria whereby people hide behind their keypads, type out nasty comments and messages to o...

IS IT OKAY TO STEAL ANOTHER WOMAN’S BABY’S PICTURE?

Another topic that has set social media on fire in Nigeria recently is the Halima Abubakar baby photo drama. She is a Nollywood actress and was recently involved in a baby photo scam where she used the baby photo of another woman in far away America, to announce the arrival of her own baby. A popular gossip blog on Instagram @gistloversblog  did some digging and found out the photo was stolen and people have been talking about it. Some people think it’s not right to take another woman’s baby photo to pose as yours, while others don’t think she did anything wrong after all, it was just the hand of the baby that she used. On which side are you? This is my personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.  It is wrong to steal first of all (because that’s stealing right?), and then to steal ANOTHER WOMAN’S BABY PHOTO? That is wrong, I don’t even care how anybody wants to spin it. In her defense, she claimed her baby was born premature so she didn’t want to snap h...
